Working with children policy
WWCC for SCC Website
In 2022/23 Sorrento Cricket Club (SCC) continues to have a major focus on creating a culture that
prioritises the safety and wellbeing of the Children and Young People at our club.
We are committed to promoting and protecting the safety and wellbeing of all Children and Young
People who participate in our games, activities, programs and/or use our facilities by fostering a
culture where they feel safe, included and welcome.
In accordance with Victorian legislation (Working with Children Check and Child Safe Standards) all
SCC Committee members, coaches, training and match day personnel, and official position holders
are mandated to have a valid WWCC before the season commences.
However, at SCC we believe everyone has a role to play in protecting our Children and Young People.
Therefore, we strongly encourage all adult volunteers and players to obtain a WWCC. A WWCC is
free for volunteers and transferable across all child related organisations and settings in Victoria
where you are volunteering.

On behalf of the SCC Committee, thank you for your commitment to safeguarding the Children and
Young People at our club.
